Claude skills for buying signals watch for the events that show a company is closer to buying than the rest of your list: a new hire in the role you sell to, a funding round, a job post that names your category, a tech stack change. They spot the trigger, check it against the account, and turn it into one specific line instead of a guess. If you install three: Niche Data Finder shows where the intent data for your niche actually lives, Trigger Finder decides which events are worth watching for your offer, and Account Fit Rank scores every flagged account so the best fit with the freshest signal gets called first.
Five steps, each with an owner. A skill does the work inside one box, it does not carry the account to the next one.
Real intent-data sources for the niche are identified, before any signal skill has something to read.
Owner: whoever runs prospecting, once, before scaling the search.
A hiring spike, a funding round, a tech change, or a job change flags one named account.
Owner: marketing or ops, watching a fixed set of trigger types.
The flag is checked against who at that account actually owns the problem, not just that something happened.
Owner: whoever preps the account before the first message goes out.
The exact trigger becomes one specific sentence a template could not have written.
Owner: whoever writes the copy; a person reads every message before it goes out.
Every flagged account carries a score, so the freshest, best-fit signal gets worked first.
Owner: whoever runs the weekly list, on a fixed rhythm.
What is a Claude skill (and what it is not)
A Claude skill is a folder of instructions, checklists and scripts that Claude reads before doing a task, the same way a new hire reads a runbook. Install one and Claude follows it: which trigger events to check for a given account, how to score a signal's strength, what a good first line built from that signal looks like. A skill is not a live data feed, a monitoring tool or a person. It does not watch your target accounts on its own, and it does not know a signal fired unless you separately connect a data source or run it yourself.

Find where the signal lives
Niche Data Finder finds 3 to 5 real data sources with strong intent signals for your specific niche, before you point any of the skills below at anything. Most of the sources it suggests are public or need only a signup. It is the skill we would install first: a signal skill pointed at the wrong data source returns noise, not triggers. Install: npx github:l3mpire/claude-skills niche-data-finder
Detect the trigger
Intent Signal Analyzer routes a buying-signal question to the right sub-skill for scoring, tooling, or turning a signal into an outreach action. It is the front door once you track more than one trigger type, so you do not sort the same question from scratch every week. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill master-skills/signal-sourcer
6 Buying Signals ranks six buying signals, from a job change to a company expansion, by how strongly each one correlates with an actual purchase. A good first read before you build on the more detailed lists below. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/buying-signals-6
Bridgebound Firmographic Triggers lists 15 firmographic events, funding rounds and M&A among them, worth building a play around. A funding round is one of the clearest signs a company suddenly has budget it did not have last quarter. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/bridgebound-firmographic-15
Bridgebound In-Market Triggers lists 20 in-market triggers, competitive displacement and seasonal timing among them, for accounts already looking for a solution right now. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/bridgebound-in-market-20
Bridgebound Symptom Triggers lists 11 pain-based triggers for problem-aware outbound, the events that show a company is living with the problem you solve before it has a name for the solution. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/bridgebound-symptoms-11
30 Inbound Triggers lists 30 inbound signal types across content engagement, product interest and social intent. It works in the opposite direction to the outbound triggers above: signs a prospect is already looking at you. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/inbound-triggers-30
Spot People Changing Jobs watches your ICP for professionals moving into a new role, during their first 90 days. A new decision-maker re-evaluating every vendor is one of the strongest triggers a small B2B team can work. It needs a paid tool behind it, though: it runs on an OpenFunnel account and uses its plan credits, which is why it is not in our first three. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill spot-people-changing-jobs
Spot Companies by Tech Stack finds companies running a specific tool, inferred from their job postings: what a company asks candidates to know tells you what it runs. Like the other OpenFunnel skills on this list, it needs an OpenFunnel account and uses its credits. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill spot-companies-using-specific-tech-stack
Spot Companies Hiring for Problems finds companies whose own job postings describe the exact problem you solve, read from what the posting asks for, not guessed. A company hiring for a role that manually does what your product automates is saying the problem out loud. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill spot-companies-hiring-to-solve-specific-problems
Spot Active Pain Points finds companies and people with pain points inferred from live events. It casts a wider net than the hiring skill above, for when the pain shows up somewhere other than a job posting. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill spot-companies-and-people-with-active-pain-points
Trigger Finder times outbound around buying trigger events, funding rounds and job changes among them, so the first message lands while the trigger is still fresh instead of a quarter later. It is one of the three we would install first: it settles which events matter for your offer before you pay for a tool that watches them. Install: npx github:l3mpire/claude-skills trigger-finder
Turn the signal into a first line
11 GTM Plays details 11 signal-based outbound plays, from a new hire to a bad public review. Each one is a concrete next step, not a raw trigger: the bridge between spotting a signal and knowing what to do with it. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/gtm-plays-11
6 Buckets of Personalization frames personalization research into six buckets, from content the prospect has authored to company-level facts, so a signal turns into a first line grounded in something real instead of the prospect's name and title alone. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/personalization-6-buckets
Personalization Playbooks matches how deep the personalization goes to the type of outreach, across four categories, instead of giving every account the same treatment. Install: npx skills add Cold-IQ/ColdIQ-s-GTM-Skills --skill skills/personalization-playbooks
Personalize Email assembles a signal pack on one prospect and uses it for a personalized cold email. It is the closest skill on this list to a straight line from signal to draft, for one account you are about to write to. Install: claude install explorium-ai/gtm-skills
Research and prioritize the account
Pain Identifier takes a target company's growth and hiring signals and names the pains they most likely point to, each with its evidence and a confidence level. The first message can then talk about the problem, not just the event. Install: npx github:l3mpire/claude-skills pain-identifier
Enterprise Account Research maps which team inside a large, multi-department account actually owns the pain point a signal pointed at. Useful when you sell into larger companies: without it, a real trigger can still land on the wrong desk. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill enterprise-account-research
Account Fit Rank scores and tiers accounts on ICP fit, intent, triggers and workforce momentum in one pass. It is one of the three we would install first: without a score, every flagged account looks equally urgent, and none of them are. It reads Explorium's data through a Vibe Prospecting account, which has a free tier. Install: claude install explorium-ai/gtm-skills
Score and Tier Accounts scores and buckets a live account universe into tiers as new signals arrive, keeping the ranking current instead of a snapshot gone stale a week later. Install: npx skills add openfunnel/openfunnel-skills --skill score-and-tier
The order we would install them in
Start with Niche Data Finder: a signal skill pointed at a weak data source returns noise, not triggers worth acting on. Once you know where to look, use Trigger Finder to decide which events matter for your offer, then install the router, Intent Signal Analyzer. Then pick the trigger skills that match how your buyers actually show up: Spot People Changing Jobs for the strongest single signal once you are ready for an OpenFunnel account, Spot Companies Hiring for Problems and Spot Companies by Tech Stack for the two most concrete ones, plus 6 Buying Signals for a broader read.
Once triggers are flowing, add Pain Identifier to turn each trigger into a likely pain, then 6 Buckets of Personalization and 11 GTM Plays so each flagged account gets a specific play, not a generic template. Then install Account Fit Rank and Score and Tier Accounts so the flagged accounts get ranked, with Enterprise Account Research for the larger ones, where a signal can land on the wrong desk. Once the core chain runs and you want a wider net, add the three Bridgebound trigger lists, 30 Inbound Triggers, Spot Active Pain Points, Personalization Playbooks and Personalize Email.
What we left out, and why
Bridgebound History Triggers (ColdIQ) lists 16 triggers for re-engaging past prospects and closed-lost deals. That is a reactivation job, closer to what a lifecycle or nurture skill does, not fresh trigger detection on a new account.
Bridgebound Relationship Triggers (ColdIQ) lists 39 relationship-based triggers such as shared investors and alumni. It overlaps heavily with the trigger and signal skills already on this list, and one more trigger taxonomy adds upkeep, not new signal.
AI Personalization Prompts and Personalization Hooks (ColdIQ) are strong skills, but they work on the wording of the opening line, not on the signal behind it. They sit on our cold email list, which also covers four of the signal skills above in less depth.
Personalization at Scale (manojbajaj95) builds a system for personalizing messages across a large list. That is a copy question, not a signal one.
Decision-Makers Map (Explorium) maps the buying committee at an account. That matters once a deal is already open, which puts it closer to our sales list than to spotting the trigger in the first place.
Enrich Company (Explorium) pulls general firmographic data and already sits on our CRM list. Full Org (FullEnrich) maps an org chart and recommends who to contact. Both are account research, not signal detection.
ABM DIY Campaign (Explorium) runs a full account-based campaign end to end, ads included. That is a bigger commitment than spotting and acting on one signal, and belongs in a paid or account-based-marketing list, not here.
One gap worth naming honestly: none of the skills above identify an anonymous visitor on your own website. That is a different, usually paid, capability, and we found no Claude skill for it worth listing here.
What a skill will not do for you
A skill spots the trigger, checks it against the account, and drafts one specific line. It does not watch your target accounts around the clock unless you connect it to a paid data source or a scraper you run on a schedule. It does not decide which flagged account is worth a person's time this week either: that call stays with whoever owns the list. When a signal is strong, the message that follows should come from the person who owns that relationship, and fast, not from a template fired the moment the flag appears. A skill also does not know your market well enough to tell a real trigger from a coincidence: a hiring spike can mean a company is growing into your product, or it can mean nothing at all, and only someone who knows the account can tell the difference.
That judgment, and the weekly rhythm that turns a flagged account into a call made the same day, is what our intent signals work is built around, and what we install for clients under the Acquisition letter of the GOALS method.
FAQ
Can a Claude skill watch my accounts for me and alert me the moment a signal fires?
Not on its own. A skill gives you the checklist, the scoring model, or the play to run once a signal appears, but finding the signal in the first place still needs a connected data source (a job board, a funding tracker, a technographic database) for the skill to read. Check the specific skill's SKILL.md for which data source it expects.
Is a buying signal proof that a company is ready to buy?
No. A hiring spike, a funding round, or a tech stack change is a reason to look closer, not a guarantee. Some of the skills above, 6 Buying Signals first, rank signals by how strongly each one correlates with a purchase, which is useful, but a human still needs to confirm the account actually has the problem before spending outreach time on it.
Are Claude skills free?
The skill itself is usually free and open source. What is not free is the data behind it: a technographic lookup, a job-posting scrape, or a funding database still needs a paid source behind the skill in most cases. The OpenFunnel skills above run on an OpenFunnel account and its credits; the Explorium ones on a Vibe Prospecting account, which has a free tier.
Do they work in Claude.ai or only Claude Code?
Most of the skills above install through Claude Code using npx skills add, npx github:, or claude install. A growing number also load inside Claude.ai and the Claude apps, but the exact install path differs by publisher, so check the command listed for that skill.
How do I install one?
Read the skill's SKILL.md first so you know which data source it expects and what it actually checks, run the install command listed above, then test it on a handful of accounts you already know well before pointing it at your full target list.
